Swans to play at Oakes on July 7
The Swans have conducted a number of ground inspections with Lismore City Council, and are happy to confirm that July 7 will be the first game at Oakes Oval against the Tweed Tigers.
The $2.5m upgrade project of Oakes has extended the ground to be the same size as the Sydney Cricket Ground where the Sydney Swans play, and the massive revamped change rooms are a game changer, allowing the Swans to host games with a professional and quality change room facility and atmosphere.
The new massive LED scoreboard will be a new local sport feature allowing the Swans to interact with game-day fans like never before. The Swans will also have new audio equipment arriving later in the season to compliment the LED scoreboard.
Of course, why not come and sit down in the new grandstand on the western end, or take a seat in at Oakes Oval famous main Gordon Pavilion grandstand?
The day will feature a Welcome to Country ceremony, a legends walk to honour both goal ends, and the Swans will also host their valued sponsors as a 'thank you' for their support.
We have created an event on our facebook page, and welcome everyone to stay up to date with the event details, and come along on July 7 to watch our beloved game, against a great local rival.
More details to come soon.
